For the LOVE of Flint
Thank you Flint! It was because the residents of Flint, the WORLD was put on notice! For a nationwide realization that Flint, and what happened there, could happen to them. We, the residents of Flint would never-ever wish this upon any person in any city in any nation, but if it could happen to us, realistically, it could happen anywhere. Please, check your water. Are you truly safe? Do you know where your water source, your life-source is coming from and if it is truly safe? Does it meet the national standards? Just because it is not discolored, is it safe? Be aware of your water, know what you have. Can you rest easy at night? Can you trust the individuals you elect to office to not fail you and your loved ones? Flint did.
What Really Happened, Why, and When.
The Flint Water Crisis is on-going. For those who do not know, it is very important that the residents of Flint, Michigan USA are still after 10 years is not fixed. The infrastructure is not complete. The residents are still batting health concerns from being poisoned. There is a complete lack or responsibility for residents concerning trust. There has not been any justice what-so-ever for the man-made disaster Flint has become. All levels of government has failed Flint and the residents. After all that, Flint's water source is still unstable, blending two different water sources, while paying extremely high water rates for whatever it is coming out of our faucets. It is completely tiresome, frustrating, and underwhelming what the residents have went through, and are still going through.
There has been change when needed, but not without a fight every step of the way. Fighting for change helps not only the residents of Flint, but changes made in Flint can benefit the entire nation. New laws for protection, and change can be made, just have to keep fighting for the love of people. Flint needs fixed.
In the coming months, Water You Fighting For and In Flint will be re-living the Flint timeline. A true 'Decade of Defiance' for what the residents had to withstand failure and cover-ups from all levels of government, and fight for the changes residents made. This story is not easy, and it is still on-going, but it needs to be re-told so it will not happen to any other community. Avoid being the next Flint.
Flint is STILL FIGHTING
Residents of Flint are still fighting for changes. The lawsuit filed to fix the pipes is still on-going. Residents are still fighting the city and the current administration to complete the court-ordered infrastructure to be completed. FIX THE PIPES!
Residents of Flint are still not ready to trust anyone in the world without proper consistent data that this water flowing through these pipes is safe. Testing all the water in Flint consistently with credible sources needs to be established. Why is it still so expensive? Paying the highest rates in the nation.
Flint needs healthcare that can help for real healing. We the residents of Flint, Michigan USA did not do this to ourselves. This was done to us. Without Justice for Flint, no responsibility for actions taken against the people, residents are still suffering from being poisoned. Healthcare and prescriptions are extremely expensive. All the levels of government to still failing Flint and the residents.
Change the LAWS! Protect the innocent people from laws in place that ever letting this happen in the first place. Emergency Management (or a form of it) can be implemented by other states. The fact that this, what happened in Flint can not happen to you in your state, in your city is not true. I can. Without Flint getting fixed properly, is absolutely more incentive for it to happen. FIX FLINT NOW!
